installing exhaust hanger o rings on muffler on 92 240

hi sages- many cars today use these thick rubber orings to hang exhaust pipes and mufflers. just finished installing my two torque rods with new bushings. noticed one of the two orings which hang the front of the muffler from the frame was broken and hanging off. these arent easy to do like the block rubber hangers on the american cars where you push them into a narrow bar like a coat hook. wasnt easy finding replacements but did at a local jobber. these orings are very strong and dont stretch easily . they are designed to slip over a half moon hanger disc with a retaining lip. there must be a trick or special tool to do this( hot water soak, lubricant , etc.) . leverage is needed . maybe a shop tool like a belt stretcher. appreciate it if you would give me the low down since you have probably done this 50 times and ill bet in 5 minutes too .thanks tons oldduke
