Replace or repair fuel hose on 1984 DL 200 1984

I managed to cut the "fuel pipe" (Volvo part 1312382) on my 1984 DL with Bosch LH 2.0 injection. I cut it back a few inches and managed to push it back onto the barbed brass fitting at the fuel rail. The "pipe" is an inner, hard plastic hose with an outer, rubber hose surrounding it.

I found it is NLA from Volvo and ipd (I'm in Portland) has no substitute or workaround. I'm considering splicing the inner hose with a similar hose and splice fitting, but am worried the original inner plastic hose will just crack where it is spliced to the new hose.

Any thoughts? I'm sorry if this has been covered in detail before; I was unable to coax anything related from the search engine.

Mike J.
