Intake Manifold Gasket - To Hylomar or Not to Hylomar? 200 1993

I just finished a bout of trouble-shooting hell isolating the cause of an irregular idle in 1993 240. Soon, I'll take the time to post the hours of agony which brought me to this point, but, for now, the short story is that it was caused by an intake manifold gasket leak.

I found the gasket hole at the No. 1 cylinder runner to have assumed the shape of an egg, almost being puked out on the bottom. I have to wonder how it was possible for the gasket to shift into that configuration and, of course, I am concerned about it happening again.

I am considering dressing the new gasket with Hylomar, the go-to gasket prep from my days of wrenching on Triumph motorcycles. Those familiar with Hylomar know that while it takes a set, it is non-hardening.

If you know of Hylomar, do you think it is a good idea to prep the intake manifold gasket with it or is it a better idea to assemble the gasket dry?
