Front Oil Seal (Crank) 444-544

Hello Everyone; Just had the timing cover machined, to accept the Neoprene style oil seal on a 1970 B20E. The seal was a "press fit" during installation. Question- are these seals "stepped" with regards to measurements, as I now have a very small part of the seal that still extends outside and past the cover. Consequently the Crank Pulley now slightly rubs the exterior of the seal during rotation.
My research did not reveal anyone else having this concern.

Thks.
