warm engine, high idle on start up 120-130 1966

Thanks Ron,

I recently built the engine and was originally running a DGV Weber, this seemed to start after I installed the SU's although I didn't run the DGV for very long as it was giving me grief and I opted for the SU's rather than dumping a bunch of money into the Weber.

I ensured that the linkages were lubed and not binding and installed new return springs with the addition of the SU's. I don't anticipate the fast idle is interfering at all, but to cover all the bases I'll check it out. I'm running the aluminum manifold currently.

I've also heard that it may be a broken or stuck dist. advance spring but the car runs and drives great besides this minor hiccup (and the dieseling on shut down).

I'll report back after I do some more diagnostics. Thanks for the advice!!
