m47 transmission

I have a 1989 240 with the m47 5 speed 140000 ml 1st and second gear suck when shifting ,don't know what the problem is no grinding, linkage, pressure plate or Syros but when I used the he reverse pull up on shifter for first and second from start no issues ,will this damage something down the road ive been doing it for two days
