240 difficult to start when cold 200

Hello,

My 240 '91 seems to have difficulty to start in the morning. My mechanic told me it could be a battery issue. So I took it to Pep Boys because my Bosch battery was under warranty. They did not think it was due to battery but gave me a brand new replacement battery anyway. They thought it could be a starter issue.

With a new battery a week ago, the problem did not go away. This morning in Northern Cal (50 degree temp), the car was cranking about ten seconds and eventually started after a few tries.

Any comments would be appreciated. Is my starter going to die soon? Or is it a battery issue? Or is it something else?

BTW my car is due to replace spark plugs after 20k miles. Once the car starts, it drives fine.

Thanks.
