securing pulsair rail on a B230F 900

I put everything together on my B230F after replacing the head gasket and then got a lot of noise from the pulsair rail connectors.

Quarter inch size studs take a ten mm nut and each stud holds a U shaped bracket that in turn holds each of the four entry points of the pulsair pipe rail to the cylinder head.

Instinct tells me to not put a lot of torque on these studs but obviously I did not torque them down hard enough the first time around. I also used some blue sealer around the gaskets but to no avail. There were carbon deposits left on all of the gaskets from the exhaust escaping through the non-sealing gaskets

I cannot find a torque setting anywhere for these nuts and am worried that I could break the stud trying to get it tight enough.

If I don't hear back I will try to torque the nuts down a little harder and to use a lot more gasket maker around them. But if anybody else has had a problem sealing these ports I would love to hear from them.
