Hello Keith,

What you are looking at is an old repair that was poorly done.

That's body filler and primer under there. Something was not properly prepared and the paint didn't adhere to the primer as it should.

My understanding of what a body shop would recommend on old repairs is that you need to sand off as much of that old paint as you can. Then use a sealer primer, which is different than regular primer, to prevent the old repair from bleeding through.

Also the solid colors did not get clearcoat, only the metallic colors got clearcoat.
