740 GLE '85 Repeated Clutch Cable Failure 700

First failure was 6/13 after driving care for 6 years (bought used.) Sheared at pedal. Shop replaced, advised fork was fragile and would go at some point.
12/13 cable failed at clutch pedal. Complete clutch job.
9/14 cable failed at clutch pedal. Shop warranty repair.
5/15 cable failed at clutch pedal. WTF? Very hard to get a hold of shop. Repeated calls and no call back if this will be a warranty repairs.

Questions?
Why does this keep happening?
Stay with this shop (not convenient as I have moved out of area, tow will take it there though0?
New shop (used for timing belt/water pump, muffler system install. Excellent work, timely, reasonable). Estimate $130-$160.?
Cable MFG issue? Source Seattle area has volvo junkyard, does repairs, and has new parts. In stock two cables, one made in Germany, other Italian Cofle. Vs GMO?

Also first ship can't get to it until early next week. I have to have a car, was recently injured. MRI, PT, etc. Live rural.

Any advice appreciated.
