Interior smell

Hi jwalker,

The smell may be coming from under the carpet such as the fiber backing of the carpet of any sort of porous padding thereunder.

Was it parked outdoors? Has a moon or sun roof or something that may allow water intrusion?

You may want to remove the seats and lay back the carpet. You may be able to assess whether you can clean it, have it professionally clean and sanitized, or the carpet, padding, and such cleaned and replaced.

From carpet cleaning and perhaps hospital supply or ??? Ecolab (?) stores you can find broad-spectrum anti-microbial preparations that also deodorize. These are used in time when in the floor drain in the basement rumpus room backs up as the tree roots got into the waste stack leading to the city sewer connection or, worse, a back up in the unwell care for septic system.

You want to be certain under-seat and under carpet electronic devices, like an ABS system impact (or force, or momentum halt) sensor and connection is removed before you wet the carpet and padding with carpet or auto carpet sanitizing and deodorizing preparation. Can some in spray bottles for direct application.

I just hope the 'fragrances' they use are improved by now, without being toxic, like all the fake odors in laundry detergent and drier sheets and scented candles, and nasty Frebreze. That artificial smell stuff is poisonous.

Questions?

Hope that helps.

Thank you,

Sunday's Duffed.
