Took the Duett out from its winter slumber a couple of weeks ago. Stored indoors in a non-heated but dry garage. Working well without issues when last run about 4 - 5 months ago.
When I turned the key to 'on' position the horn went on and stayed on. I traced that problem to a faulty horn ring. As luck would have it, I had a spare hanging on the wall and that problem was cured.
The car started without issues and passed its annual state inspection without demerits.
Using the car the following day, it stalled when coming to a stop sign. I thought I let the idle drop too low but when I attempted to restart, there was no juice at all - ie all dashboard lights were dead. After off and on with the key, power returned, the car started and I drove without incident for ~15 miles. When stopped I checked connections at the battery and the fuse box and rotated all the fuses. All appeared intact. I had one recurrence slowing for a red light at a busy intersection. Being stuck there provoked some anxiety but again, power came back and I was able to restart the car.
I have a fresh battery (always kept on trickle charge), a new ground strap, clean connections, and a Swem push button start kit that has worked flawlessly for 5 - 6 years. I also have a Swem modified fuse box with clean connections all the way around.
Any thoughts? I'm planning a longish trip with a rare and large boat on top...
