Various windshield questions 120-130

I've got the new windshield and trimless seal. I've located a local source for POR 15. But before I pull the old one out and start prepping for the new install, I wanted to have the sealant I'm going to use in hand. Looking on the NAPA site I see many listed.

http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Result.aspx?Ntt%3dglass%2bsealants%26Ntk%3dKeyword%26Nty%3d1%26Dn%3d0%26D%3dglass%2bsealants%26Dk%3d1%26Dp%3d3%26N%3d0

When I last did this I used a NAPA sealant. Looking at old posts I found reference to NAPA MS 4121. This may be what I last used. I don't remember.

Can those of you who have done this talk to me about which sealant you have used? In Phil Singher's VClassics post on this topic he recommended using silicone, but I think I later read somewhere he suggested not to use silicone. I think the NAPA sealant is a butyl material. Is a 5 oz. tube sufficient for one windshield?

thanks!
