ground strap 200

So, is the radio interference ground strap worth fixing?... The one that's on the Valve cover?...Mine broke off, and I tried replacing it. But, I used copper shielded wire and whatever connector I could find. Probably tin... Well, it didn't last, and I've had spark plug wire buzzzzzzz.. Now, is it really worth replacing? Also should it be a stock OEM Volvo part I try and get or try and copy that setup on my own. Would a silver wire work better than a copper?... Sorry for the noob-like question, but it's been bugging me, and I'm not even sure if I should bother. Thanks, Bork-san
