Tapping the starter 700 1991

Realize you have already made your order but please be aware that many of the rebuilt starters are little better than what you have in there. PLEASE keep all the information required for a warranty return.

If you have not done this job before, be prepared to need a 36-48" wobble extension. The easiest way to get the top bolt out is a deep well 6-point socket on the end of a 36" wobble extension threaded over the tranny crossmember. An impact gun on the end makes it quick and easy but a normal 1/2" drive ratchet should do it...with the impact wrench I can do this with the front just on ramps but with a ratchet you really need the whole car a bit up in the air so plan on jacking the rear and placing it on jack stands.
