Dear Hussman,

Hope you're well. The black rubber cruise control servo does not have a "charge". When the vacuum hose is attached - and the engine is turned-on - the intake manifold generates vacuum.

When cruise control is engaged, vacuum is supplied to the servo, which holds the throttle spool at the position required to hold the speed chosen.

When cruise control is disengaged - by applying the brakes or using the switch on the control stalk - the vacuum is released and the servo releases.
