How much would you pay for a NEW 2017 Volvo 240?

Re- used AWD Volvo, (see kgv above) could have bought one 10-year old (a few years ago) from someone on my block for $2500. Very clean, original style V70 with the smooth "no-bulge" rear face. Then said to myself "uh,uh, all those drive shafts & u-joints??" No, thanks - could be looking at a pile of trouble and repair costs.

BTW, isn't it weird how the global car nazis decreed that FWD was going to make the world a better place, and then started building FWD cars with AWD option? So the advantage of low production costs and no drive tunnel were summarily lost. Also the gear shifts are all stuck on the "floor" even though gearbox is nowhere near it. This is another reversal of the logic when post WW2 RWD-pre FWD cars had the gearshift "on the tree".

Seems like the world is going collectively insane.
