Engine died, no restart 200

GRRRR
1990 240 DL Wagon.....

Running, but running rough....CEL illuminated. OBD1 pin 6 gives 1-4-4

Cleaned Mass Air Flow sensor (was absolutely filthy! nice and shiny now)
replaced Mass Air Flow Sensor. Started right up......

Ran it for about 4 minutes....revved it a couple of times at the throttle body....

then it just died and won't restart.

WTF???

Ideas?
