Fuel Filter Dissected with photos 200

This was from my 760 but these fuel filters are identical to the 240s. It was impossible to blow through it and it was coated with some kind of black sludge. Replacing it made the car run good again. I replaced the original main fuel pump too but I be it was the filter that was the cause of it cutting out. Best guess is this filter had about 300,000 miles on it.
