1993 245 Overhaul - Distributor question 200

Hi! My first post here. I'm in the process of overhauling my 1993 240 Wagon. I'll post questions as they arise. For some reason, when I do a search here, I get no results on my iPhone and iPad. Any info on that is appreciated too.

So, question 1:
The distributor clip snapped. Is there anyway to replace/repair just the clip, would you use a zip tie? If not, is there any reason I shouldn't buy a used distributor for $40-$50 vs a new one for $130?
