Limiting straps 444-544

I'm looking for a good PV like I had many, many years ago. Recently, I came upon a '57 444 (like I had back then) in pretty good shape but when we put it on a lift, wheels suspended, I noticed that both limiting straps were broken. Everything else appeared OK & driving felt normal. What damage was done, if any, by running with broken limiting straps? Thanks.
