Had a growly Wiper motor the other day. Assumed it was the infamous magnet separation.
Some Notes that may be helpful for you folks.
#1 I did not remove the Motor/gear assembly from the Firewall. Just loosened the 10mm bolts to give the assembly movement from the foamy firewall. This will assure the Brushes and Springs stay set. Worm gear and Windings wont move.
#2 Made note of the positioning of Notch on the Motors cylinder in relation to the gearhousing. Marked the aluminum housing with a Marker.
#3 Marked the Motors cylinder and the Endcap for reassembly alignment.
#4 Made note of the location of the magnets as they relate to the long assembly screws. You do not want to glue the magnets in a position that you cannot run the screws through the length of the Cylinder. Sanded all the old glue off the Cylinder and magnets.
#5 put a dab of bearing grease in the Endcap for the motor shaft and added anti seize around both ends of the cylinder so the Endcap and gear assembly wont rust to it in the future.
Used some two part , 1 hour Epoxy....It took longer for the glue to dry than it did to do the disassembly and reassembly.
