Any tricks on how to get electrical connectors apart

Hello to all, I am chasing the flashing up arrow and e-w light issue on my 98 S90. I have replaced the PNP switch with no change in the flashing lights. I am now trying to get the electrical connector on the left side of the transmission to come apart, so I can check the resistance of the two speed sensors. I have the two locking tabs on the side of the lower half of the connector pried back but I am not able to get the top half to budge. I am reluctant to soak the connector with WD40 or a penetrating oil. Does anyone have a recommendation?

Thanks, Don
