OK, got tired of reading and am three beers into the evening so do this...

Follow Art's advice, remove the fuel pressure regulator and blow into the return line. Any restriction at all and you found your problem. The LH Bosch main pump cannot sustain 70 psi with a functioning return line.

Do not buy fuel pressure gauges in this day and age..."rent" them from Autozone )and all the chain stores).
