'89 240 idling problems 200 1989

Hey BrickBoard!!

Haven't been on in awhile. Missed your advice and expertise..

Seriously though, my 240 wagon has been idling badly for a month now. I don't drive every day so I wasn't pushing to fix it right away. ONce it warms up or is going at a constant speed(highway) its free of any problems. Its only at stops and when initially starting. I did the onboard diagnostic check and it came out 1-2-1, which if my memory serves me correct is 'Fault in signal for air mass meter.' Not sure if this means I should change my air mass meter. I plan on doing that as I have access to an older air mass meter so I can try this.

I changed the air filter not long ago, so I was thinking it may be a vacuum leakage or a timing belt issue. But she runs fine when you are stepping on the gas so I'm really not sure.

Thanks,

Stallison
