Power Steering Troubles Update - Interesting 900 1994

I ordered a brand new power steering pump with pulley from Eeuro Parts to cure the issues I wrote about last week. I'm awaiting its arrival.
Today I noticed fluid around the reservoir cap. I opened it and found the fluid level has raised significantly despite never having added fluid.
Pump still moans and groans and steering wheel shutters on low speed turns.
I found the RAISED fluid level odd. Any thoughts folks??
