transfer pump

This is drum, in truck bed, to race jug in truck bed. Race jugs are "fast" dump five gallon jugs. The bottom of the jug and the bottom of the drum are at the same level but the top of the drum is about 1.5' above the top of the top of the jug pus any height that goes on top of the spear for the right angle and power supply connections.

I admit, I do not get the high vapor pressure safety issue. Are you saying at least part of the the pump needs to stay submerged or something else?
