Greetings, I've owned a lot of Volvo cars over the years (444/544/122/142), but never a 240. I've recently acquired a 1979 242 DL with 123K. The car is like a time capsule, completely original. Car runs and drives pretty well, however, I need to replace the head gasket (burning coolant).

I'm looking to you for suggestions of items I should address "while I'm in there". I'll probably have the head rebuilt while it is off, and plan to change all the filters/fluids, but was wondering if there were any preventative maintenance type items I should change out before using the car as a daily driver?
