B230FT Died while warming up, no restart. Public service announcement! 700 1987

'87 745, B230FT.

Found the KAE ignition control module (power stage, amplifier whatever we're calling it this week) I had installed proactively installed a few months ago quit on me during warm-up this morning. Reinstalled the many many many year old Bosch module I kept in my holyshitroadsidekit and I'm back in business.

Maybe I just got a bad one, I don't know. But considering how critical this unit is to the operational readiness of the car, I can't recommend the KAE module. If you have a choice, stick with the Bosch.
