door weather strip 444-544

I seem to recall a thread on door weather strip, but I can't seem to find it.

I bought new weather stripping when I restored my car close to 10 years ago. I don't remember for sure where I got it, it might have been VP. I have never been happy with it as it doesn't work like the old ones did. It fits and looks the same, but the rubber is stiffer or something and I really have to use a lot of force to close the doors. i am wondering if any one has found a better source.
Steve
