hi creeeper- never used one ofthese topside oil change suctions. interesting view. they seem to not extract as much oil as the normal draining does. have checked the oil plug magnet a number of times and never found metal fragments onit. also offing the filter seems much easier from under the car due to its tight positioning. you have to raise it and get under anyway. regards oldduke
