Dome light question. 700

Recently acquired 780.
I opened the interior dome light to fix one
of the switches and found an odd light set up.
On the light cover is a small hole that shoots
straight down.and behind
that hole sits a tiny light bulb (not working). It seems like
this bulb is activated with/by air pressure because
there is a small hose that is connected to the
base of this bulb. I cannot remove this bulb, I'm
afraid to pull too hard and damage something.
Anyone know how this works?

Thank in advance,
Joseph in NM
