Are you putting back in the glass designed to be used with the trim strip or are you putting in the later windshield? It have the choice, do the latter.

I cannot definitively answer your question but IPD says it won't fit so I suspect the glass is enough different that you would face challenges trying to make it work. The old style just use butyl tape which is very easy to use and forgiving.

Do be prepared for some rust repair at the two bottom corners of the windshield with either install. It is more visible with the trimless modern glass.
