241 was not a typo, but it was a mistake. The actual strand count is 413.

The high strand count wire is used wherever the wire flexes in normal operation of the car; between body and differential, between body and transmission, in the door lock switches, and the tailgate hinges.

It just needs repair, like any other broken wire. If you replace it with ordinary wire, it might not last 22 years. :)
