I can tell you it would not be trivial. The ignition system (Rex) is designed to be paired with the fuel system (Regina) just like a king is paired with his queen. The Bosch swap, if you do it, would be the entire system from the ICU to the coil. You could probably retain the CPS and perhaps the secondary wiring. But matching up the load signal from Regina fuel to Bosch EZK might be the tough part you will have to learn about on your own.

On the other hand, if it is only the troublesome square coil/power stage, and not all of Rex you want to get rid of, the prospect of replacing this with a round coil and separate power stage would be less challenging.

But as they say, anything imagined can be done. Prove them right!
