M47 Noisy 5th gear 1992 245

I finally found an m47 and have gotten it is the car after trying to decide to replace the shift shaft seal and other drama. I checked the fluid level once the trans was in the car and level. The fluid level was 1=2 inches below the filler hole. Not good. Anyway to the point. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th sound decent. However, when you shift into 5th, there is a howl. It is audible if you short shift a little early, up to about 60, and then it quiets down some. I have not taken it on the expressway yet but, will tomorrow to see what it's like at or over 70mph.

I drained and over filled the trans (per m47 overfill instructions) and added two ounces of motorkote. I really think the dude I bought the trans from didn't get it up into 5th when he test drove the car prior to pulling the trans to sell. So, what now? I hate to pull this thing again but....
