Possibly going to buy '91 740 Turbo wagon 700 1991

All,

I've been presented with an opportunity to purchase yet another 700 Series car. This one is a '91 740 Turbo wagon and this particular model is the one I've been searching around for a long time. I've been around several examples over the last year but all of them have been turkeys that I've had to pass on.

The '91 745T in question is definitely appealing to me because 1) It's red with a tan leather interior, which is my favorite color combo, and 2) It's a one-owner car. The owners purchased it brand-new in the spring of 1991, shortly before their twin girls were born. The lady also happens to be my personal trainer. Truth be told, I've been trying to buy this car for a while and it seems that they're finally getting ready to see it off. Current mileage is 180k.

Here are the things that are wrong with it, as far as I know. First and foremost, the A/C isn't working - I was told it hasn't been working for a few years. Two of the Draco rims are missing their center caps, but that's not an issue, as I have sources that I can get them from. The hazard switch on the steering column (above the turn signal lever) is broken off, as is one of the heated seat switches. The right rear passenger door is missing its trim molding, the rear wiper works when it wants to, and the leather is showing its age - after all, it is 25 years old (build date of 09/90).

My question is this - what kind of offer do you think would be appropriate for a 745 Turbo like this? I believe they are going to ask between $1300 and $1500. It is likely that I will counter with an offer of either $900 or $1000. I know that car has needs that will need to be addressed but overall, it's mechanically solid. Also had the transmission replaced at 141k miles. I think if it comes down to things, I'm going to try offering them $1000. Even though it's a 745 Turbo, and a '91 car at that, I really don't think the vehicle is worth that much money.
