Not exactly---1. - I would not cut the old belts as they would now become the new "road trip spares" unless they were in worse shape than the old "r-t-s".
2.---yes-but only if the tension was correct to begin with.
3.---no--I would loosen the tensioning system and properly tension the new alternator belts (and then check them after a couple of hundred miles of stretch). -- Dave
