You have a B230FD with M Cam with your North American market Volvo 240 VIN.
Unless you or a prior owner modified it.
If not already, either fix the air filter box warm air inlet flap thermostat or block the warm air inlet at the bottom of the air filter box. You can disconnect the silver accordion-like hose from the exhaust manifold, yet leaving that hose dangle can mean the alternator may eat bits of metallic pre-heater hose, ruining the alternator.
Constant warm air flow fries your AMM/MAF in Summer. Though the Bosch LH-Jetronic 3.1 AMM/MAF is a little more durable.
Just be mindful of Virginia-state emission inspection requirements before doing such modification to the engine.
Best to get all and everything to "Group 0" before doing the mods Mr. Nabisco recommends to you. Yet doing such mods, after you get to "Group 0" may be fun to do and you'll get a kick out of improved performance.
Getting to Group 0 is a seemingly tall task for some of us. A garage helps. I don't have a garage.
A GT engine designation may indicate the Volvo overhead cam four cylinder redblock engine comes turbo charged from the factory.
All three of my Volvo were built in Torslanda, so sayeth the VLV World Vin plate info for 240. Huh. Though the vin may be wrong on one of my Volvo 240 titles. D'oh.
