Greetings all, I recently bought a '94 945 with a b230f and Regina ignition system. After it test drove great, it promptly died almost as soon as I got it home. I've tried the usual suspects- checked plugs, wires, cap and rotor (all good), ignition coil swapped out w/ known good coil, rpm sensor swapped with good sensor, fuel pump relay is good (fuel pump primes/spools up when key is in position II). It's getting fuel, but no spark. Then I noticed the tachometer would sometimes jump up when cranking, then die while still cranking. Sometimes it wouldn't move at all while cranking, then on the next try it would jump a little and then die again while still cranking. Once, it jumped up higher (up to ~1k), and it fired up- only to see the tach die along with the engine. I checked the wiring to the rpm sensor, but it all seems solid against the firewall, then it disappears down behind the driver's side strut tower. When I bought the car, the only code it had was 1-4-3, so I checked the knock sensor and connector and all seemed well, so I reset the code and it hasn't returned, nor have any other codes been thrown. What am I missing?? I've been over everything in the FAQ, the only thing I can't find is the ignition amplifier/power stage/Ignition control module, but I'm thinking I don't have one b/c it's a Regina system?? Does the intermittent tach jumping while cranking tip anyone off??? Please help, I'm at my wit's end!!
