Arggghhhh! It's the light that comes on every 5k miles. In the past I was able to switch it off by reaching under and behind the instrument panel and push up(?) on a white toggle-like lever. The last few times I did that the light still came on. Then I let the car sit for almost a year, and I just recently got it back running (a new post about this to come) and am driving it after months of neglect :( so when the weather clears up this weekend I will take another stab at it. Taking out the bulb is not an option :)
I searched the archives and for the life of me cannot find a post that lists the different methods of switching this light off on different year 240 models. I know there was one. I just need to confirm if I push up or pull down on the lever and how much force. I'm sure it is push up, but I'm wondering if I didn't push all the way up. I stopped when I felt the lever could go up no more. I just don't want to break it.
So anyway...I'm back from a long hiatus. Well, a few months back I did post about my wagon not starting...but school and work made me put the diagnostic and fixing aside. I have another car I drive, so it wasn't that urgent. Anyhow, I'm gonna try to find that post and give an update. Though I don't know anyone here personally, it's nice to see some familiar names. I fixed a lot of things on my beloved 240 using the collective knowledge and wisdom of this board.
