1993 945 Clock Spring Reset? 1993

Okay, I removed my steering wheel for some repair and clean-up. Disconnected the battery to remove the air bag and such...but did not know to "index" the clock spring, SO now I have a lit SRS light and a code 212 Steering Wheel Module, Break in Wiring...
So, my question is this: Is there a procedure for a "driveway warrior" to "re-index" or reset the airbag clock spring?
I guess I could get a junkyard unit, or purchase a used one online for not too much money, but like many of us I would have greater satisfaction being able to resolve -my- mistake and not cost myself more money. ;-(
