740 Rex loves breathing ether to start 700 1990

Hey BB'rs
Need help with the family fleet backup car. 90 740 RexReggie NA. When cold, she'll crank and crank and crank until the battery's out of juice w/o starting. If I give her a simple squirt of ether thru a vac nipple in the mani, she lights up instantly and then runs great. new fuel pump relay, new plugs/wires, new cold start inj. NO CODES. Because she runs great after the ether, I have to assume the fuel pump is fine [and the pump's only a few year's old]. If the temp sensor has gone south, then default should still fire the cold start, so I've eliminated that one...

Looking for ideas...Remember- once she lights all is good
