142 fuel system 140-160

My 1974 142S has been converted to weber carb with mechanical fuel pump. The original fuel-inj gas lines are still present with a return line to the gas tank. I would like to abandon these lines and run a single line to the fuel pump and on to the carb (just like my 122). Input appreciated.
