940 Turbo Mystery Vacuum Pump on Driver Side Engine Bay 900 1994

Hi, I took apart my mother's wagon last summer and finally put it back together except for this one last piece. It's the little air pump with the orange connector in this photo: http://i.imgur.com/P2Rdk0E.jpg

It's not in our family's 1993 volvo 940 turbo, which also doesn't have EGR so was thinking it might be related. Perhaps one goes to the EGR valve and one goes to the T-connector on the line connecting the turbo to the intake manifold. I connected the EGR valve directly to the T connector. Perhaps it's not related at all. Does anyone have one of these and could they perhaps tell me where these lines go?
