92' 240 doesn't want to start/stay running on damp/rainy days 200

The ignition power stage behind the battery dies from overheating. once every 5 years unscrew it, clean off the old thermal paste, put on new and screw it back in place. they then last almost indefinitely. It likely was the issue at the time and if not, decent preventative maint if the thermal paste had not been regularly renewed.

the light show from failing wires can be impressive.
