140 Rear axle in 122 Pros and Cons verses other known methods 120-130

Hello All,

I am looking at $300+ in parts for the stock set up. At that cost the Ford, or Toyota rears are cost effective option. I would like an improvement/upgrade to the tapered axle shaft as I don't want to do this job again. Losing a wheel a low speed is scary enough of, I don't want it to happen again at high speed.

I saw a beautiful 140 the other day, and the owner said he had done the 140 rear swap into his now sold 122s and his opinion was it was his best upgrade- and better than the Ford rear swap.

Thoughts please! Cheers,

gd
