Discontinued ac line - now what? 900 1993

I had a hydraulic hose place in Burlington, Iowa bend a piece of metal tubing (tubing had a flare fitting that fit the condenser on one end) to match the existing tube, then used a high pressure compression fitting (also purchased from the same hose repair shop) to connect it to the end of the metal portion of the AC hose after I cut off the existing flare fitting & pipe with hole. Has been working for 2 years now.
