replacing hood latch cable 200 1985

This is not an EASY task. Six or seven years ago, I destroyed two junk yard cables before I figured out how to get it out of the car. The problem is the hole in the firewall appears to be too small, it's not.

Do not cut your existing cable end. You need to figure out how to pull it out of the cabin without damaging the rubber grommet. It does fit. I think (been a while) I used a screwdriver to help the cable end through the firewall opening. It was really hard to see anything.
