Imagine that switched relays. That is a new one for the board as far as I know!

So doing the mechanics of an A/C system is more up your alley.

Do you see the system in a particularly bad shape to warrant everthing you mentioned.

Like in, is the compressor locked up? Metal particles.

High head pressures or an excessively low side pressures. Plugged orifice tube?

Have you pulled a vacuum and leak tested for any cause to suspect a really wet system?
Being flat of gas, for a long time, could be a reason for your alarm and changing the dryer package.

Without power and gauges it seems hard that you would know these answers.

Just curiosity at play here!
